1st ANNUAL COLLEGE FANTASY WRESTLING LEAGUE
Welcome to the 1st annual Fantasy NCAA Wrestling League. First and foremost we must set a draft date and make sure everyone has a registered Google, Yahoo, or Twitter account. If you already have one of these 3 accounts you will use it to join this website. If you do not have either of them please create an account at one of the mentioned websites. Once you have a registered account come back to this page and click on “join this site” under the “FOLLOWERS” tab. From there you will enter your account name and password. As far as the draft goes we are currently aiming towards the evening of Friday December 23rd or Saturday morning (xmas eve). Please respond ASAP and let me know what works best for you. Either leave a comment at the bottom of this post or email me a jpauk159@gmail.com
Below you fill find all the preliminary rules for this year’s league. All rules are open for discussion and will be finalized the day of the draft.
FORMAT
There will be 8 teams. Every team will draft a wrestler at each weight class plus 2 flex spots making for a 12 wrestler roster. All 12 wrestlers will be considered starters and will all accumulate points for your team. The league will be split up into 2 separate categories. There will be a champion for the regular season and a champion for the NCAA tournament. Conference tournaments will not be included due to the varying number of teams in each conference. For instance wrestlers in the BIG 10 will wrestle more matches at their conference tournament then BIG 12 wrestlers.
SCORING
Scoring will be pretty simple for the regular season. It will follow basic dual meet scoring with additional bonus points for wins against ranked wrestlers. Intermat Division 1 wrestling rankings will be used as the basis for bonus points. They are updated every Tuesday and there is a link to them on the right hand side of the site.
Scoring is as follows –
Pin – 6 points
Tech – 5 points
Major Dec. – 4 points
Decision – 3 points
Loss Decision – (-3) points
Loss Major – (-4) points
Loss Tech – (-5) points
Loss Pin – (-6) points
Win ranked 11-20 – 1 point
Win ranked 1-10 – 2 points
Scoring periods will go Monday-Sunday. Scores for the week will be tallied on Sunday nights and posted to the site by Monday. Scores will be tallied for the entire 2nd semester up until the conference tournaments. The team with the most total points at that point will be crowned regular season champion. As for the NCAA tournament scoring I was leaning towards the standard team scoring system that is used for wrestling tournaments. Championship round advancement +1, consolation advancement +.5 points, etc…. This is something we can decide on as a group the day of the draft.
ADD/DROP
The add/drop period will be open for 24 hours every Monday at 12:00 am through Tuesday at 12:00 am. For those of you who find this confusing, it means that add/drop period is Sunday at midnight until Monday at midnight. Add/Drops will be on a first come first serve basis. If either wrestler involved in the add/drop is scheduled to wrestle on Monday the claim must be submitted before that wrestler competes. There will also be a limit for weekly add/drops at 2 per week. To submit an add/drop go to the ADD/DROP tab on the homepage and follow the directions. All add/drops will be displayed in chronological order at the bottom of the homepage.
TRADES
To submit a trade go to the TRADES tab on the homepage and follow the instructions. Trades can be submitted at any time and there will be no limit to the number of trades allowed. All the trades that are approved will go through on Monday mornings of the following week and lineups will be updated accordingly.
